European banking sector counting on average growth of 2% in Euro area in 2005

Brussels, 03/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Banking Federation (FBF) announced during a press conference that its economists were forecasting average growth of 1.6% this year and 2% in 2005 in the Euro area - forecasts that are less optimistic than those of the European Commission and the ECB (EUROPE 2 May p 8 and other article in this bulletin).
