03/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union-AmCham EU announced that its first Transatlantic Business Award has been awarded to president of the European Parliament Pat Cox following a vote by 130 member companies. Claudio Murri, president of AmCham EU, indicated in a press statement that Pat Cox had earned this prize for three reasons: "his work on the interconnectivity of policy making between the EU and the US…his work in promoting the importance of the European Parliament to policy makers and business in the USA, particularly in Washington DC…and his pioneering of a spirit of inclusion, communication and transparency" at the European Parliament.
