Brussels, 02/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - EU Development Ministers met in informal Council on Tuesday, in Dublin. They confirmed their resolve to go to further pains to increase the amount and quality of EU development aid in order to improve its effectiveness (see EUROPE of 28 May, p.12). The aim is for the EU to give itself means equal to its ambitions, namely to come close to a level of aid of nearly 0.7% of GNP, as recommended by the United Nations, and to make a significant contribution to...
