Poul Nielson is to represent European Commission when Peace and Security Council of African Union is launched on Tuesday

Brussels, 24/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Poul Nielson, European Development Policy Commissioner, will be in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia) on Tuesday to represent the European Commission at the ceremony for launching the Peace and Security Council of the African Union. On this occasion, he will confirm that the peace facility is now operational to support African peace-keeping forces in Africa with an initial budget of EUR 250 million financed by the European Development Fund.
