Only 12 Member States have presented Commission with their national plans for allocating greenhouse gas emission quotas - infringement procedure against former Member States lagging behind

Brussels, 18/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - To date, only 12 Member States of the enlarged EU - including 9 of the old Member States - have forwarded to the European Commission their national plans for allocating greenhouse gas emission quotas, although the deadline for transmission of the plans has now expired (the buffer date was 31 March for the old Member States and 1 May for the new).
