Euro zone inflation rises to 2% in April

Brussels, 18/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - The annual inflation rate in the euro zone rose from 1.7% in March to 2.0% in April 2004, according to data published by Eurostat on Tuesday. The annual inflation rate of the EU of 25 rose from 1.7% to 1.9% in April. The lowest annual inflation rates were registered in Lithuania (-0.7%), Finland (-0.4%), Cyprus (0.1%) and Denmark (0.5%), and the highest in Slovakia (7.8%), Hungary (7.0%), Latvia (5.0%), Malta and Slovenia (3.6% each).
