Council expected to confirm Coreper agreement on Monday on savings tax and negotiations package with Switzerland - Switzerland and Luxembourg pleased

On Monday the European Union and Switzerland are expected to confirm the important agreement on the preservation of banking secrets in Switzerland and Luxembourg, concluded on Thursday between Permanent Representatives of the Member States. Coreper agreed to annex a declaration to the directive on savings tax that offers Member States and Switzerland the right to examine all future legal assistance development regarding direct taxation.
