14/05/2004 (Agence Europe) - Jens-Peter Bonde, president of the EDD group at the European Parliament announced in a press statement the release of hi new book Mamma Mia, Twenty five Years of Struggle for Transparency in the EU (in Danish on 18 May and then in English). He explained that the title was a quote from Commission president, Romano Prodi, when Bonde showed him "two piles of paper. One was 10-12 pages of official minutes from Commission meetings, the other was the 100 pages of real minutes that he ad promiesed me, but his civil servants wouldn't release. Bonde used the occasion of the marriage of Prince Frederik, Danish Crown Prince, to explain that he "was transformed from a republican to a royalist one fine day in the 1980s". Queen Margrethe spoke to the elected members and had succeeded in making a speech that was both satisfactory to "federalists and Eurosceptics. "She represented us all, dignified, wise and visionary" although the "foreign ministry desperately tried to convince her to give a propaganda-speech in favour of the EU", recounted Mr Bonde.
