EU chiefs of defence welcome new chairman of military committee, discuss capabilities and EU take-over of SFOR

Brussels, 13/04/2004 (Agence Europe) -European Union Chiefs of Defence met on 7 April to discuss the European Headline Goals 2010 and the EU take-over of NATO's Stabilisation Force in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The discussion on Headline Goals 2010 included the proposed battlegroup concept (see AN of 8 April).

At the end of the meeting, there was a ceremony, attended by EU High Representative Javier Solana, to hand over the chairmanship of the EU Military Committee from Finnish General Gustav...
