Commission brings Greece before Court of Justice for failure to respect "wild birds" directive

Brussels, 05/04/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to bring Greece before the Court of Justice (third stage of infringement proceedings) for its persistent failure to respect directive 79/40/9/EEC on wild bird conservation. The Commission criticises Greece for its failure to designate sufficient natural sites to enjoy the status of special protection areas (SPAs).
