Brussels, 11/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - At the plenary in Strasbourg, Commissioner Anna Diamantopoulou welcomed the report by Spanish MEP Alejandro Cercas on the organisation of working hours (EUROPE 4 February p 17). The Commissioner highlighted the fact that the directive on working hours was "an important element in European social legislation".
