Commission provides EUR 1 million to combat avian influenza epidemic in Vietnam with adequate equipment

Brussels, 11/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to make one million euros immediately available to support Vietnam in its effort to combat the spread of avian influenza on its territory. David Byrne, Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, had informed MEPs on Tuesday that funding would be made available (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.13).
