19/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - Last Friday, the European Commission decided to send experts to help Vietnamese authorities combat avian influenza which has spread at great speed in Eastern Asia in just a few days. Vietnam is the country that is most badly affected. Mid-January, between one and two million fowl were said to be contaminated and 18 people had died.
