Brussels, 13/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 12 January, a package containing spent shotgun shells, firecrackers and a photo of the president of the European commission addressed to Romano Prodi and his wife, Flavia Franzoni, arrived at Mr and Mrs Prod's residence in Bologna. It contained a hand-written demand signed by Sardinian "insurrectionary anarchists", mainly affirming that "anarchist packages is not terrorism. The real terrorists are you, who treat us like puppets". The package had been posted on 9 January in Cagliari, Sardinia, the sender named as the Sardinian autonomous region. It was opened by Romano Prod's protection guards who declared it was not intended to explode.
