Statewatch notes European arrest warrant is limping along in only eight out of fifteen Member States

Brussels, 06/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - The "European Arrest Warrant Limps into Force" is the disenchanted title of a Statewatch press release on implementation of the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) between eight EU Member States out of fifteen, namely: United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The seven other member States have not been able to keep the deadline for transposition - 31 December 2003 - set out in Article 34 (1) of the framework decision...
