Commission to investigate six Member States for non respect of legislation on pollution prevention and reduction

Brussels, 06/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to begin infringement procedures against six Member States: Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands for not respecting the EU law on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC). The European Commission has sent them a first written warning (first step in the procedure in Article 226 of the treaty).
