Brussels, 23/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Central Bank (ECB) has rejected Silvio Berlusconi's idea of basing its mandate on that of the US Federal Reserve. In an interview with Tuesday's issue of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Italian member of the ECB Governing Council, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, said that as you can imagine, we do not support this idea.
