Tchibo allowed to purchase Allianz's share in Beiersdorf

Brussels, 18/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission raised no objections to the purchase, by the German company Tchibo AG, of the 20.10% stake in Beiersdorf held by the German insurance company, Allianz. This transaction enables Tchibo to increase its shareholding in Beiersdorf to 50.46% and therefore gives it overall control. Tchibo is a family-owned business, mainly active in the coffee sector. The company produces and distributes coffee in its retail outlets and coffee shops....
