ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

German group E.ON has sold off its shares in the regional company, EWE (27.4%) and in the VNG gas company (42.1% directly held by E.ON and 32.1% via RUHRGAS). The 274% share in EWE will be sold for EUR 500 million to the other two main shareholders, ENERGIEVERBAND ELBE-WESER and WESER-EMS. Stock in VNG will be sold to EWE, excluding 10% proposed to other shareholders, at a total amount of EUR 840 million.
