Adoption of communication on creation of a "single area" for payment by credit card is suspended

Brussels, 24/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Commission was unable to adopt (by written procedure) a consultation document on the creation of a "single payment area". Blocked on Monday by the cabinet of Commissioner Pascal Lamy, the communication should be adopted in coming days. Consultation will cover the creation of a legal framework intended to facilitate transactions by credit card, pay card or electronic bank transfer. This framework mainly allows providers of...
