Green light to British WRAP (waste recycling) programme

Brussels, 14/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission authorised the start-up of the British Waste and Resources Action Program (WRAP). This programme covers two measures: a system of subsidies and a guarantee fund. The aim of WRAP is to stimulate demand for products made from waste (wood, plastic materials, glass, aggregates, compost) through investment aid in recycling centres, in order to create a market for recycled products and to encourage the recycling of waste.
