Brussels, 27/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - According to an Italian source quoted by the agency Reuters, the Italian Foreign Minister, Franco Frattini, whose country holds the Presidency of the EU, and his opposite numbers from Germany, the United Kingdom and France, who visited Teheran on 20 October to discuss the Iranian nuclear dossier with the government (see EUROPE of 22 October, p.4), met the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed El Baradeï. At the centre of this meeting was the agreement reached with Iran on its nuclear programme. Mr Fischler, Mr Straw and Mr de Villepin shared the results of their mission to Teheran and discussed its probable outcome. Mr Frattini will inform the Foreign Ministers of the EU on the substance of their discussion at a later date.
