14/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - MEPs Elizabeth Montfort and Mario Mauro (EPP-ED, France and Italy respectively) indicated on Thursday in Brussels that the petition presented by MEPs and national MPs asking for Europe's Christian heritage to be recognised in the European Constitution has received over 300,000 signatures from civil society. In a press conference concluding a seminar on this subject to which all members who had signed the petition were invited, Ms Montfort announced that the objective was to have one million signatures by the end of the IGC, and that a delegation of MEPs would present the petition to Silvio Berlusconi.
