Inquiry into Alstom extended

Brussels, 08/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Commission could decide on 15 October to extend the formal inquiry procedure on French aid to Alstom. As Competition Commission Mario Monti indicated at a press conference on 1 October, this extension concerns "the elements which differ between the initial plan, which the European Commission refused, and the new plan". It will allow a study into whether the loan of 900 million EUR, a measure mentioned by France in talks with the European Commission...
