Commission investigates State aid to winegrowers' cooperatives in Rheinland-Pfalz

Brussels, 02/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, the Commission decided to initiate a formal investigation into the support for winegrowers' cooperatives and wine producer organisations in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. In 2000, the regional authorities of three districts in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer area and the local authority of Schweich paid State aid for the acquisition of business shares in cooperatives.
