Commission threatens France with excessive deficit proceedings in November

Brussels, 26/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner Pedro Solbes warned on Thursday evening that the Commission "would, in October, activate the next stages of the excessive deficit proceedings" undertaken against France, unless the country announces additional budgetary measures before 3 October (the cut-off point set in Council's June recommendation).
