23/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The "Competitiveness" Council, which met in Brussels on Monday, confirmed the disagreements between Member States on research on embyronic stem cells. The Ministers held an "informal discussion" on the Commission's proposals of last July, which defined an ethical framework for the moratorium to be lifted on the funding of research on stem cells.
