Inquiry is opened on aid from Dutch government to municipal company managing dangerous waste installation

Brussels, 08/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has opened an inquiry into the aid that may be received by AVR Nutsbedrijf Gevaarlijk Afval BV (AVR Nuts), a public company created for continuing the exploitation of a special dump and rotary retort furnaces in the Netherlands. Intended for the recycling of dangerous waste, the installation, which is owned at 100% by the municipality of Rotterdam via the holding company AVR Bedrijven, is the only one of its kind in the country....
