Negotiations opened for planning of 1.1 billion EUR structural funds for Lativa

Brussels, 08/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - Negotiations on the programming of 1.1 billion EUR to benefit Latvia from 2004 to 2006 under European regional policy will begin this Tuesday 9 September in Riga. The European Council decided last year in Copenhagen to allocate Latvia 625 million EUR under structural funds, and 520 million EUR out of cohesion funds. The whole country is eligible for this aid.
