Group of NGOs criticises coexistence guidelines and urges Member States to pass strict legislation to ensure truly organic food can survive

Brussels, 25/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The draft Commission Recommendation on guidelines for the development of national strategies and best practices to ensure the co-existence of genetically modified crops with conventional and organic farming (see EUROPE of 24 July, p.10) have alarmed environmental NGOs, which describe them as meaning the death of organic food and farming.
