13/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the EU Council adopted a decision extending the current protocol by one year (till 3 December 2002) on fishing with the island of Mauritius, till 2 December 2003. This allows for fishing rights for 43 freezer tuna seiners (20 French, 20 Spanish, 2 Italian and 1 British), 40 surface longlines (19 Spanish, 13 French and 8 Portuguese) and 25 GRT/months (monthly averages) for French vessels fishing by line.
