Parliament warns Council on concluding EU-US agreements on extradition and legal co-operation with no legal or constitutional guarantees

Strasbourg, 04/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption on Tuesday of the report by Spaniard Jorge Salvador Hernandez Mollar (EPP-ED) on the EU-United States agreements on criminal legal co-operation and extradition (356 in favour, 63 against and 35 abstentions), the EP is urging the Council to demand legal and institutional guarantees protecting European citizens' rights when it concludes these agreements.
