04/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - An error crept into the article on the report by the Swede Herman Schmid (GUE/NGL) on the proposed decision on guidelines for employment policies in the Member States (yesterday's EUROPE, p.15). It was the EPP-ED, and not the PES, which tabled an amendment asking for the tax burden for citizens and companies to be reduced, making the adoption of this amendment a condition of its yes-vote to the Schmid report.
