Duff, Lequiller and Dini rekindle idea of "single presidency", ten years after Constitution comes into force

Brussels, 20/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - In a contribution to the European Convention, three Convention Members - MEPs Andrew Duff (UK), Pierre Lequiller (French) and Lamberto Dini (Italy) - urged for a single presidency, over time, of the European Council and the European Commission. The three Convention Members stress that the main advantage of the proposal made by the Praesidium - the stability of European Council presidency - is not really contested, but has not really been discussed...
