Detailed investigation into RV&FC acquisition proposal (vitamins and fine chemicals) by DSM

Brussels, 20/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to open a detailed investigation into the proposed acquisition by Dutch DSM of the vitamins and fine chemicals division (RV&FC) of the Swiss group Roche. The move will allow Roche to be present in a broad range of products but only the market shares for certain food enzymes, used as additives in the composition of animal feed, poses a problem for the Commission.
