20/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - a press statement by the Italian Radicals at the European Parliament indicates that the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Silvan Sharon, in reply to a question by MEP, Marco Pannella (during a meeting with the EP delegation for relations with Israel) did not rule out, "a request by Israel to the EU on behalf of the majority in government…I hope that we will finally be members of the EU", he added in the communiqué.
