Brussels, 20/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder will be taking part in a Party of European Socialists summit in Berlin on 22 May, which will be chaired by Robin Cook. The Summit, which marks the 140th anniversary of the German Social-Democratic Party, will start late afternoon with a meeting between Socialist and Social-Democratic heads of government from current and future Member States of the European Union, who will be joined in the evening by Robin Cook and leaders of Socialist and Social Democratic parties from the twenty-five countries, according to a press release. The press release also states that the Socialist and Social-Democratic leaders will take this opportunity to discuss, amongst other things, "Europe's global responsibilities, relations with the United States, and forthcoming referendums on EU membership".
