Hearing on free movement of persons in EU shows irrefutable need to simplify and modernise Regulation 1408/71 on coordination of social security systems for those who move around within the EU

Brussels, 30/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The EP Committee on Social Affairs and Employment chaired by Theodorus Bouwman (Greens, NL) has organised a public hearing on facilitating the free movement of persons within the EU with a view to adopting the report by Jean Lambert (Greens, UK) on coordinating social security systems.
