Brussels, 30/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The first European Union humanitarian aid flight to Iraq will carry pharmaceutical and medical supplies. A C-130 aircraft from the Belgian airforce has been made available to ECHO (the Community's Humanitarian Aid Office) with a view to carrying out this mission on behalf of ECHO partner NGOs on the ground (medical supplies), and other NGOs (food products for hospitals to be picked up during a stopover in Athens).
