Commission registers five new agricultural and food product denominations

Brussels, 04/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has just added five agricultural and food denominations to the list of protected geographical indications (PGI) and protected designations of origin (PDO). They are: Carne dos Açores (PGI), Borrego do Nordeste Alentejano (PGI) and Carne de Porco Alentejano (PDO), three names of Portuguese meats, plus Pomodoro di Pachino (PGI), an Italian tomato, and Uva da Tavola di Mazzarrone (PGI), an Italian grape.
