04/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Union initiated the multilateral procedure aimed at settling the dispute over the quarantine regime that Australia applies to imports of agri-food products, it was confirmed by sources close to the World Trade Organisation. Consultation with Canberra, the first - and amiable - phase in arbitration procedure, will begin shortly (see EUROPE of 2 April, p.9).
