Brussels, 04/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, was in Washington on 4 April for talks with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Under-Secretary of State Marc Grossman, President Bush's National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and the President of the Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee, Senator Lugar.
On 7 April, Javier Solana will be at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government to give the "Albert H. Gordon Lecture 2003", entitled "Venus and Mars Reconciled: A new era in transatlantic relations", in response to American political commentator Robert Kagan's theory on the behavioural differences between Americans and Europeans in conflict situations: the former are from the planet Mars, the latter from Venus).
On 8 April, Javier Solana will be in New York to meet UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and to receive the Statesman of the Year Award.
