Pat Cox calls on Fifteen to lay the foundations for a new European foreign and security policy

Brussels, 21/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - Speaking before the European Council on Thursday evening, European Parliament President Pat Cox stressed that a large majority of the EP would have preferred to allow UN weapons inspections to continue in Iraq, as well as UN-led multilateral diplomacy (see yesterday's EUROPE, pages 4 to 6, on the extraordinary Parliament sitting on Iraq).
