21/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - A mistake crept into our article on the speech by European Commissioner for External Relations, Chris Patten, during the European Parliament debate on Iraq (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.5). We would like to point out that Chris Patten will leave the European Commission in Autumn 2004, before the formation of a new Commission, and not at the end of 2003.
