Duferco's acquisition of Sorral and Beautor gets go-ahead

Brussels, 21/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - Using the simplified procedure, the European Commission gave the go-ahead on Friday to the plan by Duferco Belgium S.A (a holding company of the Swiss company Duferco) to take over of the Société Rhénane de Revêtements d'Acier Laminé (Sorral) and Beautor S.A. from Arcelor. The deal is part of the package of commitments made to the Commission in the course of the Usinor/Arbed/Aceralia merger approved in November 2001 that gave rise to the company...
