THE DAY IN POLITICS / (eu) eu/enlargement/citizenship

07/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - CAF (Charities Aid Foundation), the Stefan Batory Foundation, Euro Citizen Action Services (ECAS) and the Polish NGO Bureau in Brussels will be organising a Forum on European Citizenship on 21-22 March in Warsaw, in an effort to stimulate the debate on European citizens' rights. Gabriela Voicu from the CAF, stressed in a press statement that the notion of European citizenship ought to be a "vehicle for integration" in the enlargement process and that it should provide "a common basis of values to the old and new Member States after access and help promote civil society as a new European set of values".
