Brussels, 17/02/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Union and Vietnam last week completed their negotiations to try to conclude a trade agreement, declared Arancha Gonzalez, spokesperson for Commissioner Pascal Lamy, on Monday. The parties agreed that the EU would increase its annual import quotas for textiles and clothing to a value of 200 million euros. For its part, Vietnam would commit to facilitating European investments, and imports of wines, spirits and ceramic products from the EU. EUROPE will return to this issue at a later date.
