Negotiations again in the evening on fisheries policy reform - first significant TAC deals

Brussels, 19/12/2002 (Agence Europe) - Following new bilateral meetings on Thursday afternoon, the Fisheries Council is expected to begin discussions again at 20H in an effort to move negotiations forward on reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), TAC and cod replenishment measures. The Irish Fisheries Minister, Dermot Ahern indicated to the press that he didn't know whether discussions would continue into the night but that he expected result in negotiations by Friday afternoon.
