Brussels, 28/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Council approved without debate: 1) the proposal on terrorist profiling and the exchange of information on those implicated or suspected of involvement in terrorist activities. Member States will be encouraged to provide the following information: the means to recognise methods and means of transport, family situation, knowledge of handling explosives, paramilitary training, known places of abode etc. 2) a report not open to the public on organised crime in the EU in 2002; 3) the decision on the European network for protecting key figures for whom political agreements exist. On the other hand, Ireland did not waver its parliamentary reservations concerning the framework-decision on criminalising attacks on the environment, which was therefore not given the go-ahead.
