Close vote in favour of harmonising legislation compensating passengers in case of refusal to let them board, delay or flight cancellation

Brussels, 28/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - With a close vote in favour (239 in favour, 224 against and 3 abstentions) of the report by Italy's Girogio Lisi (EPP-ED) on the draft regulation establishing common rules relating to the compensation of air passengers should they be refused embarkation, fight cancellations or long delays, the European Parliament last week approved the amounts of financial compensations proposed by its Transport Committee.
